Interim & Fractional Programme Leadership

Step in as Programme / Delivery Director for a defined period or phase

When a live programme has outgrown ad hoc management and no one holds delivery accountability at board or client level, the risk compounds every quarter it goes unaddressed — slipping milestones, unclear ownership, and eroding confidence from stakeholders who need a straight answer on progress. I step in as an interim or fractional Programme/Delivery Director for a defined period or phase, bringing senior-level ownership without the overhead of a permanent hire. Depending on where you are, that might start with a short, focused diagnostic — assessing the current state of the programme and producing a clear, actionable delivery plan — or it might mean taking the reins immediately, driving delivery forward from day one while keeping the board and client fully informed. Either way, the outcome is the same: a programme with a clear owner, a credible plan, and momentum restored.

Delivery Governance & Set-up

RAID frameworks, reporting cadence, stakeholder governance, delivery methodology selection (Agile / Waterfall / hybrid) for organisations without mature PMO

If leadership only finds out about problems once they've already gone wrong, if no one's quite sure who owns what, and every project seems to run differently depending on who's leading it — that's not a people problem, it's a governance gap. This engagement is a fixed-scope piece of work with a clear deliverable: a working governance framework your own team can run, not an ongoing retainer and not a dependency on me. It starts with a short, paid gap analysis — reviewing your current practice against good governance, RAID, and reporting standards, and handing back a findings document that shows exactly where the gaps are. From there, I design and set up the framework itself: clear ownership, consistent reporting, and the visibility leadership needs to catch problems early instead of after the fact. The goal is to leave you self-sufficient, with light-touch support if you want it — not another consultant making themselves indispensable.

Technology & Transformation Delivery

SaaS, CRM, CMS, data migration and stystems integration delivery, end to end.

Delivering or replacing a SaaS platform, CRM, CMS, or data migration — especially across multiple internal teams and external suppliers, UK and offshore — is where generalist project management usually breaks down. This is technical delivery: SDLC, SIT/UAT/OAT testing stages, and integration complexity that needs someone who can hold their own with technical stakeholders, not just report on a plan. Drawing on delivery experience within software delivery programmes, I focus on the handover points that most often fail — requirements into build, build into test, test into deployment, deployment into support — because that's where slippage and misalignment actually happen, not in the middle of a sprint. I plug into your existing methodology, whether that's Agile, hybrid, or waterfall, rather than asking you to adopt mine. And where the real challenge is coordination — multiple concurrent workstreams, UK/offshore teams working across time zones, several simultaneous integrations running in parallel — that's exactly the kind of complexity my enterprise SaaS background was built to handle.

“A key asset is her ability to engage with the client and build relationships that support the communication process. Helen fully engaged herself with the product features and deliverables and was an asset to the project team throughout.
